Hello Dedl,
For example, I don't use Ultimate Terrain at all anymore because there are, in my opinion, nicer textures but everyone as they like personally.
Not sure if something is lost in translation but it appears there is a misunderstanding that mesh and UT change textures in FS2004. I don't think any of the mesh addons nor Ultimate Terrain involve replacing or adding textures. Texture replacement is the domain of addons such as Ground Environment or EVO. Mesh addons refine the terrain by using more data points to offer more accurate terrain elevations. They do not change the textures. Ultimate Terrain more accurately captures the geographical features of the real world such as coastlines, lakes, rivers. For instance, in my city of Regina there is a very large urban park with a lake. It is completely wrong in default FS2004 but perfectly positioned with proper shape using Ultimate terrain. My province of Saskatchewan has more than 100,000 lakes but the default world is missing many and the shapes are wrong. UT Canada fixes that. No texture changes whatsoever. UT also accurately places roads, railways, bridges, harbors, powerline grids, and much more, of course reflecting the world as it was a decade or more ago. In some instances I think UT does change waterclass and landclass but as we know landclass simply tells FS2004 what textures to display where.
